Book Review: Muses and Monsters by Rose Gravestone
Star Review: ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
“I’m not a bad guy, but when it comes to you, I am a selfish bastard. No two ways about it. The next time you start wondering if you’re good enough for me, the real question you should be asking yourself is if I’m good enough for you.”
I found Rose on TikTok where she has a series. The series is her audiobook nararrator essentially seducing the audience and herself using quotes from her book. The MINUTE I watched one of those videos, I immediately added this series and the rest of her books to my TBR. To this day, I’ve only gotten to read two of them but I agonizingly wait for the day where I finish reading everything she has read ever.
— BOOK SPOILERS STARTING NOW —
This book was thrilling and kept me on my toes! It was steamy, morally grey and kept me very enticed throughout the entire thing. I absolutely loved the poly dynamic! Sam and Carson’s competitive nature was so interesting to read and I loved seeing the persepective switch. I also saw a lot of myself in Elia, especially insecurity wise. She definitely gives sunshine girl next door vibes if that’s what you’re looking for.
Reasons I loved it
It was the definition of “Why Choose” for me. The boys wanted her to choose and Eliana really said “why?”
The SPICE IS THERE. It is open for EVERYONE to see (I’m looking at you, museum)
The obsession is so BALANCED
Overall, this story kept me on my toes and I fell in love. Absolutely look forward to telling my friends (and partner) about this book and to read more of Rose's work!
